Laboratory Services
In addition to regular vaccines and examinations, it may be recommended for your pet to receive further preventative diagnostics in the form of blood screening and urine tests. We consider any animal over the age of 7 to be middle aged. By performing these tests on a yearly basis for our older companions, we are able to detect metabolic changed and disease at an earlier stage of progression. We have full-service Idexx laboratory equipment on site, capable of providing critical test results within minutes, allowing for emergency medical decisions to be made without delay. As well as preventative health testing using Idexx reference Lab Services:
- Blood Chemistry Panels
- Complete Blood Counts/Blood Electrolyte Panel
- Thyroid Testing
- Heartworm/Lyme/Anaplasma/Ehrlichia
- Feline Leukemia/HIV/Heartworm
- Urinalysis
- Senior Wellness Panel
- Fecal parasite screening
Digital Radiology
We provide full on-site digital X-ray services using state-of-the-art radiology equipment. Radiographs are one of the most important diagnostic tools in veterinary medicine. X-rays are useful for examining your pet’s bones, lungs, heart, abdomen, oral cavity, and other areas of the body. An X-ray can detect a fractured bone, tumor, heart problem and locate an obstruction or foreign body in your pet’s stomach or intestine. Our digital X-ray technology produces clear, detailed images on a computer monitor that allow our medical team to make a more rapid and accurate diagnosis. In addition, because digital X-ray images can be saved on a computer, they can be transmitted quickly by email to outside specialists if a referral or second opinion was necessary. Digital X-rays are easier and faster to process than traditional film X-rays, resulting in less time on the X-ray table and less stress for your pet. Finally, the harsh chemicals once necessary for developing X-rays are not needed for digital X-rays, reducing potential harm to our staff and the environment.
Ultrasonography
With on-site ultrasound technology our doctors can perform advanced diagnostics that are non-invasive, pain free and are typically accomplished with no sedation. A procedure that can provide immediate information for critical care patients, allowing the doctor to achieve a further depth of detail that complements information obtained from other diagnostics.
