Dr. Sarah Blackwood, DVM, DAVCO
Dr. Sarah Blackwood was born and raised in Maine. She earned her Baccalaureate degree in Biology from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. She then went on to acquire her DVM degree at the University of Florida. After completing a rotating small animal internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, her ophthalmology residency was fulfilled back at the University of Florida. She has been a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist since 2012. She practiced veterinary ophthalmology in Florida initially, then returned home to Maine to practice in 2017. Animal Eye Clinic of Maine was established by Dr. Blackwood in 2023. When not working Dr Blackwood enjoys photography, cooking, gardening and especially spending time with her family which includes her beautiful children: two 2 legged and two 4 legged!
